Why Tenbears?
Many people assume upon meeting me that Tenbears is some sort of "Indian" name, no doubt earned through a great display of strength, courage and tenacity of spirit. It's true, I do have those fine qualities, and many others besides. My compassion for others, my gentle nature, the deep abiding truth of the advice I offer, all combine to make me a sterling fellow indeed. Loved by one and all I am. It would be no surprise at all if a bunch of wise, respectful-of-the-earth indigenous folk popped round for a cuppa and to give me a special name. They'd probably want to give me a few special amulets and charms too. Not because I need them, I'm way charming already. They'd just want me to hang on to their stuff for safe keeping, because I'm so trustworthy.
I'm cool with that. I'd put their sacred relics in the back room, on a high shelf(out of childrens reach) and dust them regularly. I'd most likely put them on the same shelf as the secret rocket ship plans I'm looking after for NASA.
Actually "ten bears" is my favourite simile. things like "As drunk as ten bears", "As hungry as ten bears", "As handsome as Cleo Magazine's Batchelor Bear of the Year and the first nine runner's up". That sort of thing. Bears are good for similies because they do so much cool stuff. I might make some bear related entries later to help bring you all up to speed on these things.
Oh, and feel free to ask me for advice. I'm full of sagacious notions and helpful hints.
